Hypotenuse Trio
Hypotenuse Trio is a new music ensemble that fuses performance and charity through outreach events to promote local initiatives. Our organization aims to increase community engagement through commissioning new music and promoting of musicians and educators of the Mid-Michigan area. In the Fall of 2019, Hypotenuse Trio held our inaugural Call for Scores with much success. We had dozens of submissions from which we chose five compositions as “winners” and two as “honorable mentions”. As a group with an unorthodox instrumentation, we hope to stimulate new chamber music for odd instrumentation as well as inspire students to break down the boundaries of classical music to achieve their goals.
